Hunger Games
Brainstorm- lower angle- make the subject look better or more powerful, dutch tilt- to show katniss emotional felling- dizzy, something is not right- has been selected for the reaping, mid shot- to show some face expressions, body langue and the background.
What is happening in this shot- Katniss has volunteered as tribute in the hunger games where most will probably die. She volunteer because her sister was picked and she didn't want her to die.
Themes- Struggle for power-it shows that Katniss and primrose are helpless against the reaping, that the district children are going to be killed
Rich vs poor-Clothing- Effie trinket is dressed nicely while Katniss is in cheap clothes, well worn clothing. Effie is immune to the reaping because she is from the capitol whilst Katniss and the children of the District are scared of it. shows privilege because those in the capitol don't have to be reaped for the games.
Hope and Rebellion-seen through the 3 finger salute when Katniss has finished speaking- becomes a symbol of rebellion later in the story but is the first time we see it, used almost in mouring. also, Katniss is becoming a figure of hope for the people in D12.
How do we feel-dizzy- put in Katniss shoes, sad for Katniss, worried because she has a low chance of winning, admire her for taking her sisters place.
Why did the director do this?-till this point we know she hunts and supports her family, she can use a bow. Volunteers to save her sister, tells us that she cares about her family- selfless. knowing that she can die in the games. as an audience we start to understand her and care about her.
SEXXY Paragraph-in the reaping scene, camera angles and shots are used effectively to show the theme "Rich v Poor". in the scene volunteers as tribute in place of her sister, in the Hunger Games. A low angle dutch tilt is used to show katniss and effie standing on the stage after Katniss volunteers, This is used to make veiwer feel dizzy like Katniss who has just risked her life for her family, The low angle shot makes the veiwer feel weak and vunreble like the children watching from District 12. The director did this to help the auideance from a bond with Katniss and and understand why she will make the chocies that she does further in the film. It also shows the theme "Rich v Poor" because the people of the districts have to struggle capitol citizens like effie are immune and see it as honored and entertainment. Combined with the costumes, we see like

Quote hunting
"the only thing stronger then fear is hope"- President Snow this ties in the theme hope and rebellion by saying this he means that he is giving the districts some hope that their representatives are gonna win but when one of their representatives die they lose a little hope so then District 11 riot because they had enough of the hunger games being rigged.

Hunger games Themes and ideas
poverty,power,privilege
Rich-lots of money,more opportunities,privilege,power
poor-less opportunities,no power,less money
Definition: Theme of 'Rich vs Poor'
it is more than just money, it is about who has more power, privilege and opportunities.
Rich:
- President Snow, D1, Caeser, Capitol
- Capitol- don't get reaped for the hunger games Food- plenty, excessive, variety, Clothing- cleaner, Brighter, designer, new outfit every day, privilege of choice to co-ordinate what they wear, they have choice. Buildings- bigger different materials, not worn down, architecture is modern, example of power and privilege, Technology- more advanced, they have airships, trains, they tracking technology, medical technology- blood scanners, healing balms. Children- get presents, get to play, don't work, don't worry.
Poor:
- District 12, District 11
- District 12- Buildings- broken, not very secure, holes in roofs made from wood, small, don't have access to materials to make anything better, don't have a lot of power
- Clothing- bland, worn out, raggedy, not a lot of variety, old style, boys best outfits- broken shirts, button up, trouser/shorts/suspenders, shows us that their clothes don't always fit properly, hand me downs, girls best clothes- dresses shirts/skirt, not good fit. Coal miners- black, grey, dark colours don't show as much dirt
-Technology- medicines- we don't see any, we do see sick people, shows privilege of being healthy, transport- walking, eletric fence doesnt work- not enough energy to run it.
-Food-not enough scarce, hunting for it, rations, put your name into the reaping for extra food
-Children- they have to work, no time to play- can play but pushing sticks in mud, scared being reaped for the hunger games, not a lot of choice for future jobs- most will be coal miners,
SEXXXY Paragraphs in the hunger games', setting is used effectively to show the theme 'Rich vs Poor'. Rich vs Poor is more than just money it is about who has more power, privilege and opportunities. for instance, we can see privilege we can see the idea of privilege reflected in the physical environments of District 12, the buildings are worn out, broken and not secure where as the buildings in the Capitol show modern deign, variation in materials are built on a grand scale. This makes audience think about the differences in wealth and power between the two locations. District 12 has nothing whilst people in the Capitol are safe and secure in their advances buildings. The purpose of this was to show that Katniss Everdeen has come from a place of less privilege and power so her success in the games is very unlikely. Coinciding with this is the use of colour. In District 12 there are lots of browns and greens whilst in the Capitol we see futuistic palette of metallic greys, blacks and silvers. The use of settings and colour effectivley show us the imblance of privilege in places like District 12 and the Capitol.

Technology has changed people's life positively and negatively. Technology has changed our lives positively and we can communicate more easily with people but negatively because you can get addicted.it has helped us positively because It has helped on the medication helping people and you can get a hold of the police more easily. But it has affected us negatively
because you can now hack people and get a hold of people's personal information more easily. These 3 examples show how technology has improved our lives and created more leisure and time.
Are we addicted to our phones?I’m not really sure but i think we because their are a-lot of people that can't last more than a day without their device and that is bad they really need to learn that you don't need a device on you 24/7 and i think that the phones have changed many lives in a bad way i have many things to say how bad technology is but it is also good with how in class and you dont what something means you can just search it up online

- The word “plumbing” comes from the word plum bum, which is Latin for lead. ...
- The Tremont Hotel in Boston became the country's first hotel to incorporate indoor plumbing in 1829.
- Since 1963, there has been enough copper piping installed in American homes to wrap around the Earth 200 times – about 5.3 million miles worth.A plumbing drawing is used to show clearly the location of fixtures, sanitary ware, pipework, valves and so on, and illustrates how fresh water is to be supplied into a building and waste water removed.
